The TRI STAR TRIPLE CROWN is a sports performance competition for former and current athletes — not a fitness challenge, but a true test of athleticism across speed, power, strength, and endurance.

Hosted by Tri Star Strength × Rehab, Kingsport’s sports performance and physical therapy clinic, the event uses professional-grade sports science technology — including Hawkin Dynamics force plates and OVR precision timing gates — to objectively measure each athlete across six qualifying events:

•  2-Mile Run (downtown Kingsport course, starts at 3:00 PM)
• 10-Yard Dash (OVR timing gates) •
• Approach Vertical Jump (OVR Jump mat)
• Broad Jump for distance • Bench Press — max reps in 60 sec (men: 185 lbs / women: 95 lbs)
• IMTP Isometric Strength Test (Hawkin Dynamics force plates)

Each athlete receives an aggregate score. The top 3 advance to a live finals round featuring a 30-second assault bike sprint, 1-minute max pull-ups, and 1-minute trap bar deadlift (men: 335 lbs / women: 205 lbs). *All athletes receive a digital performance scorecard after the event, benchmarked against athletic population norms.

T I M E & E V E N T

• 2:30 PM Athlete check-in, waiver confirmation, station familiarization
• 3:00 PM 2-Mile Run — will run on designated downtown Kingsport roads, course will be marked
• 3:30 PM Station testing opens: 10-yd dash, approach vert, broad jump, bench press, IMTP— athletes will rotate through
• 5:15 PM Aggregate scoring closes — top 3 finalists announced live
• 5:30 PM Finals: assault bike (30 sec max cals) · pull-ups (1 min max reps) · trap bar DL (1min, 335/205 lbs)
• 6:00 PM Awards + Triple Crown ceremony — digital scorecards distributed to all athletes (Start & end times of each event are approximate, must be checked in before 3PM to participate)

The Triple Crown is open to former and current athletes ages 16 and up. It is designed to celebrate athletic performance, bring elite-level sports science to the Tri-Cities community, and crown the most complete athlete in Kingsport.

Registration ends July 17th! Limited spots open to only 50 participants! Cost is $65. Parental/guardian consent required for participants under age of 18, must be signed prior to event start.
