WHAT: Kid’s Fishing Derby

WHERE: The Lagoon at Warrior’s Path State Park

WHEN: July 19, 2025, 8 a.m. till 10 a.m. No fishing until 8 a.m., 7:30 a.m.

WHO: For girls and boys ages 4 to 16

*An adult must supervise Children under 10 years of age. Supervising adults are to help ONLY in baiting hooks and taking the fish off the lines. The tournament is for kids. This is hard to enforce and each adult supervising a child is requested to adhere to the rules, even though your child may have no luck. Again, this event is for the kids. NO NETS are to be used in the place of hooks and lines.

* Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency now requires a valid fishing license for those over the age of 12.

REGISTRATION: Free registration at the Fun Fest Store or on-site the day of the event. Check-In is REQUIRED. There will be a signal to start fishing. One registration is required per child.

Optimist Club of Colonial Heights, Fun Fest, Greater Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce, and all other persons acting on behalf of these organizations, will not be liable in any way for an accident or injury to anyone going to, from, or participating in this fishing derby.
